Hood weight

I am fabbing up my own set of hood struts to eliminate the prop rod but I am hoping someone could tell me the weight of a 99-04 GT hood to make sure I get the right gas struts. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Im not sure the total weight, but i know that it cant be THAT much.. i have taken a few off in my time and they cant weight too much..

Now my question is, why not just buy the steeda ones for like $60bucks?

But maybe your all about doing the simple things like that yourself, which i think is totally cool.. cuz iam sure you thinking, "Why spend 60 bucks when i can fab up my own for less"?! which is great! but let me know how it goes!!!

Isn't Steeda's just for S197's?

It weighs about 45#s with the hood scoop . My 00R hood weighs about 23#s for comparison....I would recommend going aftermarket.
