Maybe a dumb question, but I gotta know.

Is the input signal for a mono amp also mono; that is, do I pick right or left channel for the signal to go to a mono subwoofer amp, or is the input on mono sub amps in stereo?

I've never done this before, but am thinking about putting one JL 12" in the trunk with a mono amp. No websites or similar resources talk much about the signal going IN to that thing. Maybe it really doesn't matter which side you choose?

I appreciate the help, guys and gals.

Does your head unit have pre-outs for rca cables?

Input is usually in stereo, although you probably wouldn't miss much if you only hooked up one channel or the other. As for the Mach system...never messed with it, and hope I never do, but I'm fairly sure there are no preouts, so you'd probably be using a line out converter to get a signal for the amp.

You need a line out level converter, and then you grab 4 wires in the trunk, they are underneath the stock amp rack in a plug, black and black with green and black and black with white if i remember correctly, wire the level converter into those wires then rcas from there to the mono amp and you will be set to go, your mono amp probally has left and right inputs if not just plug one rca into it and you will be set let me know if you have more questions Dan
