horrible gas milage

i just figured up my gas milage for the city and it is horrible and i need to figure out why. for the city i figured it to be 10.5 miles to the gallon and it seems to be running really rich. when installing my exhaust i pulled the #1 plugs and it was all wet and smelled like gas. i have no check engine light coming on. but it seems to me that a efi 5.0 with 3.73 and pretty much stock motor should be getting better gas milage than this. any input is greatly appreciated

I would start by at least checking the computer to see if it has any codes stored in memory or not. From there the list only gets bigger.

Pull your codes first and see if anything is wrong. You also might want to look into new O2 sensors as I got 10 mpg in town when mine went bad after my LT header swap. If you haven't done a good tune up in a while you also might want to get a new cap and rotor, new plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Cleaning the MAF element and IAT sensor would also be a good idea.
