If you guys remember several months back I had a nasty little engine fire which did its fair share of damage and then everything was repaired and was better than ever. That Friday I did a once over again and detailed the s**t out of the engine bay and went to leave the shop after 4 hrs of cleaning and detailing I get to the first stop light and it just starts surging like hell. To make this story a little shorter, in the process of cleaning and polishing everything the hold down bolt on the distributor must have been loose and I rotated it when I was polishing it because when I checked it this weekend I was @ 28'. Yeah not f**king cool. I did everything to try and get the idle back to normal (cleaned MAF, IAC, checked and replaced almost all vaccum lines, PCV, new plugs ,wires, o2 sensors ................. and I really cant tell you why I didn't check my timing first, because I know better than that s**t but i just kept telling myself unconsciously that it was just set and I know thats not it. This was my lesson learned and I'm lucky I didnt torch a piston in the meantime. Take nothing for granted.

I had some idle problems too, it would idle very low among other things. I checked my timing and it was way retarded. Reset the timing and it was fixed, idles 700 rock steady.

Yeah it was such a simple fix that I made way too hard on myself. From now on when I see the bad idle threads it's going to be 3 word responses.

CHECK YOUR TIMING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
