Horsepower guess?

Hey there, I'm new to stangnet and mustangs in general... I got an 88 mustang lx not too long ago and have been arguing with my friends about how much power it has, I know the only way to really know how much power it has is a dyno but I don't know of any close by and thought you guys on here could probably give me a good guess to how much power it is putting out. It has a 5.0 swap with 351 heads, lunati .610 cam, underdrive pulleys, holley 600 double pumper carb, summit dual plane intake, shorty headers with flowmaster exhaust, msd everything ignition-wise, and stock gears. I know stock it has about 220 but I was curious to how much power the mods on it would add. I was told it could safely wind up to 6500 rpms with the cam change but I'm not sure if that changes much. I appreciate any input you could give and if you have any tips for the setup or to what I should do next with it.

Not even gonna guess on that "combo". Need more specs as it sounds a bit "off"

Really strange combo.......
Is it still a 302 with 351 heads? What year are the heads? What's the duration of the cam at 050? Big lift cam with dual plane intake and small carb and shorties?
I'll assume the heads are stock, off of anything with huge chambers that are too big and killing compression. Big cam with dual plane intake and 600 carb? With the mismatch of parts I'm gonna guess........ 290. Just my opinion.

i had a similar motor... mine was a stock shortblock 88 motor w/ b 3o3 cam, DOOE windsor heads ported, eddy, rpm gap intake, 600 dbl pmpr. it made 305hp, now, that was at the flywheel NOT at the rollers, you can look at loosing about 20% thru the drivetrain.

that cam lift does sound odd... are you sure it didnt have .510 lift? .610 would be large for a big block!

I'm not positive of the cam lift, thats just what i was told by the person I bought it from, and I couldnt tell you the year of the heads unless there was a way of checking. Since it seems mismatched what should I change? besides the cam of course I don't think I could manage that, thanks for your replies, I never would have known it was a strange setup

I had almost the exact same setup as yours at one point and it was great. I don't doubt your HP. I just said the carb was a little small in comparison to the heads, I didn't mean it wasn't good. Assuming the heads are nothing special with 78cc chambers that will lower compression alot, and I don't know the cam specs. That's why I guessed a little low. 610 is alot of lift and if thats the case the duration would be in the 240-250 range. I cant remember the lift on my cam but its around 650-670 and thats in a fully done 331 built by Paul daSilva. Joe's brother in a low 10 sec car.....

cool... yeah i thought his lift numbers are strange especially for W heads. im sure you have ALOT more head than him on the 331.

i know this wont be the answer you are looking for but... the only way to know what to change, is to KNOW for a certainty what you already have, and the only way to tell that is a tear down... so, with that in mind, if it is running well, i would leave it alone and enjoy until you are ready to start fresh.

Heads

To me I think they are very important and worth spending money on. I got TFS High Ports CNC ported to the max from Rick at Fox Lake Performance. 2.08 intake 1.65 exhaust. Almost $4000 on heads alone. I figured only buy them once, they are good for 8's if I ever went nuts with the car.
