seems my problem is fixed, put on a new solenoid, new positive wire from the battery, new ground wire from the battery, and run a new wire to the solenoid for the ignition switch as far back as i could get, the old one was cracked all up and looked rough
Heat creates resistance.. Loose connections create resistance... You need to check the small things first. I dont think its the battery but you still need to check it with a v-meter while off and check it again while running. If the battery tests good then move on to all your connecting wires. Make sure they are all in good condt with no crud, rust, dirt or anything else built up on them. Replace old ground wires and old battery wires. Shield your starter and battery.
Timing could also be a factor if its higher than normal...
well the solenoid and new cables seemed to fix my problem for a little while, but today it started back doing the same thing again???? anyone have any ideas to what it could be now?
the capri i had did this everytime it was hot. the starter would get so heat soaked from the long tubes that it wouldnt wanna start sometimes. especially at the track. it would have to cool down for like 20 min before it would start. i say its your starter on its way out from bein heat soaked.i changed my headers to shorties an new starter an havent had that problem since
my battery is still under the hood, havent had time to move it to the trunk yet, i have shorty headers already? could it still be a heat soaking problem?
more than likely it's a heat soaking problem. mine currently hasthe same symptoms and the battery is in the trunk. I purchased a DB electric mini high torque starter this weekend, so after the install ill write up to see how it runs.
