i have an 89 saleen and not a lot of money but i have to do something about the seats, there is a tear/whole in the driver seat i could fit my head through. there is also another small whole on the driver seat, and the whole left side of the driver seat is coming apart, also the passenger seat has a cigarette burn in it. so i have to do something about the seats, i found the cheapest racing seats i could on ebay for 329 shipped with sliders and four point racing harnesses. they are black seats with red stitching and red four point harnesses. they definitely seem to be the best deal, i dont want to be made fun of though either because i put them in my car. i was thinking maybe a rear seat delete later if i got them, so that the front seats wouldnt be different from the rear seats. and i figure i can hold on to the stock flofit seats incase i ever sell the car. let me know what u guys think of them in my 89 saleen its black and grey inside. here is the site where u can take a look at the seats. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&item=7919023784&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT

Unless its a racecar or a ricer the recliner is the way to go.

Yeah those are great looking and the leatherlike seems neat. Plus if you buy summit crap at schucks they cover the shipping

ya i just looked at those seats, they arent bad looking. however, they are almost another 100 dollars, and dont come with harnesses im not sure if i would like the look of the seats with crappy stock seat belts on top of them and the wholes in them but with no seat belts going through them. that leatherlike stuff is cool though for sure.

If you're interested, i've got a set of Corbeau GTSII seats for sale. I bought them and installed them for 2 days. I'm too tall for them.

Paid $850 for them new (2 seats, 2 Mustang brackets, shipping, etc). Will sell them for $700.

edit: FYI - the seats in that link recline, but they don't flip forward. So, if you get them you won't have access to the back seat any longer.

I would be sure to get good quality seats -- as I see it, the seat is the other half of the seat belt. Nobody wants to think about a wreck, but if your seat fails in that situation you could be in trouble.

If you do end up getting those seats, I'd recommend ditching those harnesses until you get a roll cage or somewhere better to mount them to.
Also, I'd probably buy some real belts at that time to.

Just look around on Ebay for some used Recaros or Flo Fits. I picked up some used Flo Fits in really good condition on Ebay for my 89 Saleen for $200 total, with the brackets.

Those thin little harnesses look like they would dig in hard if you came to a sudden stop froma high rate of speed. I would make sure they are street or track legal before you base your investment on them. I think your better off getting a better seat, and purchasing real harnesses later. I have 5 point harness in my stang, its a bitch to put on, I use the factory belts when im just out cruising but its your cash, do what you think works for you
