How bad could a driver be???

So last night I raced a kid i know from around town who got and 06 Evo VIII about two months ago. the car runs low 13's stock with no problem.

any way it was late night and no one was around at all..... it was me ( 14.9 best i ever ran) my friend with an ls1 camaro, and the Evo, 3-way, we went from about a 30 roll the first time and i backed off at about 100 with the camaro out front of course and im not sure how far ahead i was on the evo because i was not paying attention to him so much but still, i was ahead...

next we went again from about a 60 roll, i was in 2nd gear at about 4k when i took off, right off the get go i put a car on the evo and he never caught me from there this time up to 115ish, he was at my back bumper the whole time..

how the hell does this happen...... could someone be that bad of a driver that i can make up for a 2 sec lag of time in the 1/4 and 9 years of technology??? wtf, just doesnt make sense... he doesnt deserve a car like that...... afterwards he tells me its because i put work into my car... hmmm i have about 1k in performance mods and a car that is worth maybe 10k.... opposed to 30k....

idk just confuses me and felt like sharing....
it still felt good when the kid said... you guys have 8 cylinders i only have 4 what do u expect...haha.... although the LS1 is a hated enemy, it is american muscle too afterall haha... nice to see us win

The guy made a bad decision on what car to buy, he probably makes bad decisions on when to shift, as well.

my friends does he knows how to launch it...they are one of the hardest cars to launch effectively even with the AWD...but it sounds like its gonna break every time he does it.

car and driver rates them at 13.4 @104 but with a shifter and dr's my friend got his to a 13.2

I've seen plenty of Z06's, C5's, Evo's, STI's, etc run 14's at the track....the driver is the most important factor on how a car runs....wonder if that guy knew he had to have the gas pedal on the floor????

and im not a retard, i know what car is what, it was not a lancer, and i know i shouldnt stand a chance, that is the point of the thread, i did.

and depending on where u look the EVO is rated 13.2-13.5 in the 1/4.

and this didnt even involve launching, just showing that no matter what you have if u cant drive, u suck, and ur car sucks.

Rolling from 30 isn't going to give you the same run as launching from a stop. And your probably would have realized the reason he paid 30k for that car had your race involved any turns....I don't think you would have been in front anymore.

*edit* but you're right, he still doesn't deserve it if he lost to a Cheby!
