how big are our gas tanks?

not to jack the thread but is the sending unit on a 87-93 tank the same as my 84? if so when i convert to efi i will buy an aftermarket fuel gauge.

actually the impedance for the sending units is the same from 79-87...in '88 Ford went to a different impedance reading-why '88? still don't know that one..

and the fuel pump is separate from the sending unit till '98 i think. I know all the fox tanks regardless of FI or carb have the sending unit in the middle, and the fuel pickup (or pump pickup/strainer ass'y for FI) off to the passenger side on the taller part of the tank

I could swear I seen my low fuel light come on quickly when I took a corner fast but it never came on again(91 GT) Either way im only gettin about 270kms to a tank which is costing me almost $50+ canadian to fill, I gotta scan for some codes, my check engine light comes on after about driving for 20 mins car is still fast very smooth just a pig on gas I guess.

We talking 270km highway, or inner city, or a mix of both?

I get about 420km highway only. City you can cut that in half to about 225km.

Personally, I could care less! I didn't buy this car based on fuel efficiency. It's purely on lifestyle baby :)

Mostly city, I think I should be able to get 300+ kms even in the city
