i was tinkering around under my hood today and decided to check if my carb is opening all the way when i put the pedal to the floor...and im not..im getting my primaries and like half of my secondaries.

im not sure how to adjust it now...i know it has to do with the lever attached the the pedal because it can only move so far(hits intake manifold and almost hits firewall.

anybody have suggestions on what they have done to cure a problem like mine?

i have a 289 with edlebrock 600 cfm carb.

1. Disconnect your throttle arm from the carb
2. Then manually open the throttle
3. Look in carb...does it look the same? or Re-attach throttle arm to same spot on carb while holding throttle all the way open, if you can do this, you are getting full throw.

I had the same issue w/ mine 289 holley 600 dp, i have a custom made linkage rod and adjusted it as much as
possible before it would hit back of intake or firewall as
stated prior.....i found out that the pedal in car when i mashed it to the floor was the issue as the carpet under pedal was very thick.... I ended up cutting a small section out of carpet and took out the padding under that as well so now the pedal goes all the way to basically metal and opens carb the full amount.
