how can i make my 02 sound a lil louder

buy your own tips you cheap bas tard lol..jk.
getting rid of the converters will make it louder. or at least some high flow ones.
or have some electric exhaust cut outs welded in..
or buying a nice set of big mouth exh tips would help a little..

High Flow Cats, O/R pipe, long tube headers. You can go for a quick fix by dumping the exhaust at the muffler.

There is a post above about free mods. If you look through there, a guy put oil drum caps on his muffler. Not as easy as electric valves but a lot cheaper.

Do you want it to be louder on the outside of the car or inside of the car?
If inside, then just dump the exhaust right after the muffler. When I had flowmaster and did that, it got insanly loud inside the car.

Im kinda looking for the same thing. I curretly have a Flowmaster 40 series. The pipe is stock all the to the muff, then the flowmaster, then it is split past the muff into dual exits.

I was thinking of cutting off the first 2 cats, I dont want to deal with the o2 sensor on the 3rd and final one. would this give me more of a deep throaty sound to it outside the car? It just is not loud enough for me now.

It sounds good around 2,000 - 2,500rpm but I want it to sound throrty even in park, and have a very deep sound when accelrating.

what should I do?

spend money and have custom duals installed...
if you want it to sound good spend the cash..
if you want it to be loud and annoying then hack away..
who needs mufflers anyway?? they are there to keep the car say muffeled..lol
start screwing with the cats and expect check engine lights, and failed inspection stickers.. unless you spend the money the right way..and lots of it..
there are suttle changes you can make.. just by changing to a bigger tailpipe tip
will make it more throaty, and give it a lower tone. you want the ones that look like a megaphone...

I got X-pipe with HiFlow cats (only 2 instead of 4 stock), then Magnapacks. When driving and of course at idle people think I got a V8.

What do you mean by custom duals?

would getting rid of the flowmaster muffeler solve my problem? How about 2 or 3 high flow cats?

I was thinking about getting my local exhaust shop to cut my exhaust off where it merges into 1, and making a custom X pipe, and putting in 2 flowmaster 40s with some large tips?

However... that would pose a problem with my 3rd cat right? since the exhaust is like the first diagram, and I am talking about chaining it to the send diagram.

Man if you had stock exhaust I would have bashed you

Here in Norway there aren't many Mustangs (about 2400 total for all years), and there is only 1 more V6 like mine over here. All the other with newer V8's (94 and up) don't dare to mod their V8 for some reason. Everyone I'm the V6 guy, but they find it funny that my "little" V6 is louder than many of the newer Mustangs and they always ask what I've done since last time. Guess they mod their pony trough me
So when I finally get my H/C/I upgrade that's been ordered they will hopefully try to look at their engine too.

2002 mustang V6 flowmasters system

Do you have 2002 mustang with flowmasters y-pipe and mufflers 40 or 50? and howabouth sound inside the car it is loud or it is o.k.? I do have x-pipe with PYPES mufflers on my 2002 mustang and they are really loud specially inside car and really don't like it.Thanks for your answer Pavel
