how can make a cheep home cold air intake

easy, do a search for it.. haha, ok half joking, but seriously there are a bunch of threads on the matter.

as soon as you rip off everything past the throttle body it'll become very apparent how to do it. no new maf necessary, all stock stuff + two 3" rubber pipe fittings and 3" inner diameter pvc (max 2ft)... cut, attatch (get 4 screws too for the maf) and there you have it

Lowes has some nice pipefittings for about $4 or a little less I think. I'm gonna replace the ones on my Mac intake with them next time it needs to come off. They're black instead of blue and come with bandclamps.

You know you've gotten cheap when you sit in an isle at Lowes and ponder the performance potential of some stuff in the plumbing isle.

What he said :nice:

That is kinda sorta how I did it with my 65 tb & 80 maf.

Basic 3 parts are the pipe & two Fernco plumbing connectors. Depending on the size of your tb, maf, and filter you might have to get a little creative on how make it all work.

is home made as good as aftermarket
I think mines is better than the ones that are selling on the net.
I gotta take a pic tomorrow, then you guys will know what im talking about.

But what I did was; use some part of that plastic box (where that screen is), I used a sautering iron, to melt some of the plastic, and purchase an air filter from autozone (filter is around 24 bucks), and it fit perfectlly. I'll take some pics tomorrow. All in all, im sure it's better than the ebay ones, the only after market one, that might give mines some competition is the Mac's straight shot. But I think mines is straighter than that one as well, plus, I din't have to cut any holes or anything in my fender.

ive always been the one for the ebay cai. im a lazy ass and dont feel the need to spend the same amount of money (almost) to make something when i can just get it from ebay. i can spend my time doing something more productive

what cai mine the 1/4 as for time
 what's the question?

for our cars the cai really doesn't do that much, it's a beautification rather than performance mod. it does help some though. so it really doesn't matter a whole bunch what cai you get. the home depot one can be modified if you decide to change maf or tb so that's why i like it, of course the net ones might also offer that, dunno- your decision.
