as far as the part that goes to the MAF to filter, I made a piece out of 1/4 plexiglass and 3in pvc pipe that bolted to the MAF and had a roung end to mount the filter to and not drill holes in a filter base.
1. get a piece of 1/4 plexiglass and sort lenght of 3in I/D PVC pipe.
2. with a black magic marker/ overhead projection marker/sharpie, make an outline of the MAF plate that has the 4 bolt holes onto the plexiglass.
3. mark the 4 bolt holes.
4. puting the MAF on the other side of the plexiglass you can line up the bolt holes and outline as to set yourself up to ouline the inside diam. of the MAF. **note** make the hole smaller than than needed for now**
5. with a Dremel/drill/other rotory cutter and a drill bit (or plasitc cutting tool, but he drill bit works great) cut out the inner diam. or opineing of the MAF.
6. cut out he template.
7. with the inner hole cut match it to the 3in I/D PVC pipe and mark the outside of the pipe on the plate with a marker.
8. cut to the smaller side of the mark and trim until the PVC pipe fits tight and snug into the hole.
9. get some PVC glue/clear silicone adhesive and glue tube to plate with the tube fitting tight and snug into the plate,
10. let dry, and paint if you so wish.
12. cut the PVC pipe to length that you want.
13. mount to MAF with 4 bolts.
14. mount a filter to the pipe by slipping the filter over the pipe and clamping.

maybe im missing something...but its still an intake....its a COLD AIR INTAKE....sure we refer to intake manifolds as intakes...but the part with the filter and mass air is still an intake....
