why would the valve train do this? Im thinking when it gets hot it has too much valve lash? can this happen, or should i look elesewhere for the sound? If so, maby ill go in and remove the rocker shims, bring them down closer. Thanks

i too have a "ticking" sound under my driverside valve covers but its only after some good driving. when i put in my new intake, im gonna check to see everything looks good under there

Just a guess ... but I would think the oil's vicosity is thinning out (when it gets hot) and not protecting the lifters and rockers like it would when the oil is thicker (and cooler). Try switching to a thicker or heavier viscosity oil for the summer months and/or add in some Lucas Oil treatment when you do the next oil change. Again ... that's just a possibility!
