I'm sorry if I come off sounding like an ass, but I see posts like this way too much. Do you make at least what she does? If you make decent money, are not in huge debt(I'm talking credit cards) and can afford it, who cares. In a perfect world that would be the case, but marriage involves some compramises. We do have some debt. Approximately 20K worth of school loans and as stated before I still owe about 8K on my 05. Plus we're going home to michigan next month for a wedding which is not a cheap flight from Hawaii. But like I said the deal is not totally off. I jst need to do a little homework and crunch some numbers. Then with a good presentation I'm sure I can get her vote to buy it.

I fully agree. I already told her if i could not get it for 1800 or less than it was not worth it. As for the whole v6 thing I agree totally. The only reason I have a six is I really really wanted the s197 body style when it came out and the stang i have is the most i could afford. It's been good for a while after doing some modifications, but it's gotten to the point that if i want to do more it's forced induction or morot swap and that's just not feasible right now. Mid life crisis at 25? Somehow I don't think she'd believe that.

not worth it to me. too many mods done to the six to warrant selling it for the same body style and having to redo the mods. Plus fox bodies are just plain mean looking.

I understand completely!

Last fall when I bought my Fox....I started looking at cars for 2-3k. Most of them needed so much work. I looked at mine and it was 6k. I managed to finally convince my wife that I could buy a car for 2-3k and spend 10k on it to get it into the same condition the other one for 6k was in. The logic appealed to her and she said OK.

But we did have cash for it and although we have the normal debt....spending the money didn't put us into a bind at all. I did however wait nearly 6 years after getting out of school to finally buy something that satisfied my lifelong dream!

I understand the compromises thing. If it is that important to you, have a talk with her about what her dreams are and how you can help hers come true to....and how she can help yours come true.


If she still refuses, tell her when the baby is born you want genetic testing to prove you're the daddy!
