Can some one help me on this one. I tried to use bearing puller that had a two piece backer with two 3' sections of "all thread" and as soon as I start to crank down the puller nut the "all thread's" just bend, and no go. Is there a specific way to get a rear bearing off that I am missing? Two people told me to use the technique above. Can anyone else give an idea as to what to do? The second question is this.. if it comes off this hard, how in the h*ll do I get the new one on? :bang:

first you gotta get off the bearing retainer rings . cut into em with a chisel on the outside it should help am let go. basically its a jsut a pain in the sass. id rather pay someone to do it then do it myself
take it to a local backyard mechanic type guy and have him press off the old and press on the new ones. my local backyard mechanic did it for 20 bucks. its all about having the right tools.

The guys at the local rental shop are now interested and see it as a challange, especially the "Chevy" dude. After I rented the puller from them and failed, they offered up a press to do it. Sucka's. But for 22 bucks it will be done correctly. The Big Boss there is a huge Mustang fan and will help me do it.

Thanks for all the help!
