How do I tap into the negative coil wire for a tach signal? Do I just use a splice connector and splice into the wire or is there a way to plug a spade connector into the harness or something? I don\'t really want to cut up my stock harness with a splice connector if I don\'t have to. Thanks in advance.

when i installed my tach i was just testing it, i pulled the plug from the coil, stucked the tach wire and plug it back on, I did it as temporary, but i don't remember changing it, i'll have to change coil in 2 weeks for my carb setup, so i'll do it right....

test it see if it works...

You can do what you propose with piggybacking a spade terminal down inside the OEM connector. You can build the 'outside' of the spade terminal up so it wedges into the connector nicely. Then zip tie or tape the new tach wire to the OEM wire to help keep it in there.
There would be more ornate and/or proper ways to do this, but your idea is quick and simple.

Good luck.
