Some of you may remember my recent post about my oil pressure problems. I've now got my engine pulled and the oil pickup off.
I am at a loss when it comes to testing it, though. Does anyone know a way to get definitive results as to whether the tube has a crack in it? If it is cracked, it is invisible to me just by looking at it, so some way to make a small crack easy to detect is gonna be necessary.

Take it to the auto machine shop and have it Zyglowed or Magnafluxed.

Zyglow is a fluorescent dye penetrant that you spray on and wash off. It glows under UV light and show where the cracks are. Zyglow works on any part, even plastic ones.

Magnaflux uses a fluorescent dye penetrant/iron power solution and a BIG magnet. When you apply the magnet to the part, the iron power lines up along the lines of any cracks. Maganflux only works with ferrous metal parts (iron or steel)
