How do the 4.6s sound with no mufflers?

Well it was like that when I bought the car, but here is what they did.

They cut the mufflers off. They kept the stock flow tubes (the ball and socket fittings that attach to the end of the mid pipe that lead to the muffler) and bent up new 2.25" (stock diameter) pipes from where the mufflers used to be and ran them out the back like they were with the stock exhaust.

What im saying is, you can have an exhaust shop (or you if you have the skills/tools) cut the mufflers out and just weld a small peice of pipe in that meets with the rest of the stock pipe, that way you can keep the stockers instead of dumping them.

If you want to dump it than thats cool, but you DO NOT want to leave the stock H on with no support from the rear of the car.

The stock exhaust (and aftermarket, even dumps) still have rear hangers to support the H pipe. If you just dumped it without hangers connected at the rear you are leaving the weight of the stock H (heavy) hanging on by the 4 bolts connected to the exhaust manifolds. Thats bad news...

There is a 00 GT in my area that a girl drives which has "straight pipes" on the car. The car sounds good/loud during crank up and low rpms, though once she gets moving around 30 mph, the car sounds like crap

I had no mufflers with stock H-pipe for quite sometime.

It actually sounded pretty good. However, it was not my choice to not have mufflers on it at the time.

You would be surprised how many people complemented it and asked what exhaust I had

If you really want to do it so bad take it to a muffler shop and have it done with some short delete pipes to go where the mufflers were at like someone already said they did. Can not cost more that $50-$75 dollars to do that and it might take them like 15-30 minutes total from start to finish.

Maybe Im just getting old, but IMO an off road h, or off road x with aftermarket mufflers is loud enough to me.....My 95 with mac off road H & flows is plenty loud, & I dont need anymore attention than that....
