I was looking at my car last night, and noticed that somehow i have rust under my dew wipes on the drivers side. I see that its riveted in, but didnt know if i have to drill those out or if its just screwed in some other way. I want to get it off and get new ones on there before it gets anything else to rusting..

thanks in advance!

Open your door...Unscrew the fastener at the end of the black top rail....slide that towards you....drill out the rivets on the existing dew wipe....VOILA!

Cool... i didnt think it would be difficult, but wanted to know before i screw anything up lol. I already have that metal rail thingy of there, thats how i saw the damn rust

Im guessing that when i order new ones they will have to be riveted back on there?

I would think you could use small self tapping screws instead of the rivets, I don't know how exactly it looks behind there but for door handles etc you can use screws for those types of things instead of rivets so I imagine you could for the dew wipes as well. This is something I need to replace on my car as well, but I have yet to do so. The screws are a little easier especially if you have no rivet gun.

I have a rivet gun, but since i started this thread, it seems difficult to find these things.. 50resto.com only sells the metal piece that goes on the outside of them.. anyone have a place they recommend to get these from?
