How do you polish this

I'm trying to learn how to polish some metal and aluminum. Any suggestions or links on how to do this.

Here's a few things I've tried that work great:
1) Mother's
2) Never-Dull
3) Lightning Shine (made by Wicked Products)

Lightning Shine is the best product I've ever used in my life for aluminum .... works awesome!

From personal experience... the US Army will actually PAY YOU to learn how to do this! You get to polish all sorts of metal... belt buckles, door handles, even the lids of shoe polish cans!

I'm polishing my valve cover (damn 4-banger) with sandpaper, steel wool, and some mothers mag and aluminum polish. What I've got done so far looks very nice. I think I'm going to have to find a junk yard valve cover so I can take this one off to get at the little crevices.

How do you polish this
