How do you put the Top cover on the T-5

I have everything in neutral. I can get it on, but I am not sure if its on right. I don't want to RTV the top and back just to remove it again. When I pushed the roll pin out of the shifter, it was pointed straight up. When I get the cover on, the hole for the roll pin isn't straight up any more, so I don't think it's on right.

I have the T-5 manual on my hard drive but it doesn't say anything other than to put it back on. I tried a search of the forum to.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you disassemble the shift forks?

You are correct, the hole for the roll pin should be straight up.

Assuming you assemblemed the shift forks correctly, they should dangle straight down with the hole pointed up. If not, something is assembled wrong.

To install, line up the forks with the slots in nuetral. You need to offset the cover to the passenger side of the tranns about 2". Lower down until about 1" above the cover, then slide right and lower down all the way. Hole should be pointing up.

Then slide on the tailhousing and proceed from there

maybe your forks got messed up, the mechanizing in there is a little complicated at first, but if you play with it a little bit u can see how it works
