i want to know too, my tint is cheap as hell and i would love to put some decent stuff on, only thing stopping me is the damn back glass being a pain in the ass to remove the tint

i havent done it on a mustang, but on other cars with rear defrosters....

the tint comes off just fine, but the glue is still left and that is pain in the ass to remove without a razor blade

quick question, anyone have a picture of there back window around where the defroster connector goes? preferably untinted?

i peeled up a small area of my back tint and the dot matrix and defroster lines are not black, but a tan color....

u can buy any ammonia based window cleaner at walmart. U can also buy tint window remover in bottle(basically storong Windex is all it is).
I used old credit card to scrape around defroster. Do not use razer blade for that, else u might mess up the line..

just an update. i was reading up a little and the only experince with rear defrosters i've had was with my old beater/dd geo storm. it had old ass purple tint and it was a pain in the ass to remove.

i guess my mustang has, i mean had, a metallic based tint. the back window peeled right off NO problem at all. a few spots were the glue was still there, but some windex and steel wool took care of it. i removed tint from every window tonight in about 1 1/2 hours.

that is through the back window

so, my advice is just peel the tint off from the top down, slowly(the slower you go the better, if it jerks a little bit, thats when glue gets left behind)

my buddy used to own a tint shop and he would pull of the tint off and then use a soapy water with a sos pad to get the glue off

Use simple green to remove the glue. Very easy to do. Spray it on, let it soak in, and the glue will almost wipe off.
