A razor blade and windex worked on my old car. Be prepared to pick and scrape and work at it for a long time. Use the windex to soften the glue once you peel the tint away, then scrape it with the razor blade.
Dont waste your time w/ the old method! Go and buy you a few s.o.s pads! first peel the tint off,and then spray windex and then rub the sos pads, want take as long as razor blade!!
I didnt have to worry about defroster lines when i did mine but i used a mix of ammonia and water sprayed on to the tint and then cover with a trashbag cut to fit and left it bake in the sun about an hour. 90% of the tint came out fo the windows with the glue when I used a razor scaper to get it off.
Automotive shops also sell some window tint glue remover, the tint will probably peel right off, but will leave the adhesive. This stuff is a pain in the buttox to remove.
it sucks to get pulled over because of tints.. i had that experience. I was pulled over three times in 9 months period because of tints and mine wasn't even that dark..
well.. to remove it i bought a steam cleaner for about $100(like the ones you see on the infomercials) and steamed the tint film from the inside of the car starting from the edge of the window where you can easily scrap off the tint to start pulling on it. Once you get the edge off then start steaming bits of the tint and pull from the edge (you gotta make sure that you heat the tint enough for the glue to melt, go really slow). If you do it correctly all the glue will come off on the tint film you are pulling. Continue until you have the tint film completely off.
This is how i did it, and took about an hour and half to remove all the tints including the back. I had bits of glue left on my window but i could easily scrap it off. Well good luck!
