how do you separate the motor from the t-5?

I am currently in the process of removing the old engine from my car. Right now it is all taken apart and everything is disconnected from it. Removed all the bellhousing and flywheel retaining bolts, and I was just wondering when I lift the motor out with the engine crane what connects the motor to the t-5? Do I just slowly lift it out, and it separates from the manual or is there something I need to disconnect once I pull the motor partially out? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

just pull the motor forward until you get the input shaft out of the clutch and pressure plate.

wouldn't it just be easier to disconnect the trans from the ngine underneath then pull the motor

I always do it like that. Because remember, the splines have to mate on the way back in too, which I think is much easier to do outside of the car.

I misread your post about tearing it apart under the car. I thought you meant taking the trans out with the motor, which is the way I always do it.
