just got the engine all together and it runs perfect except the check engine light came on, I assume due to not having any cats on the exhaust. how do I fix this problem.

also, the guy that I bought the car from said he already had something installed to fix that problem, and it wasn't on before I rebuilt the motor due to spun bearings.

it runs perfect so I assume this is what it is, but I havent had it checked yet.

get your self a programer like diablo or sct and it will take care of that problem and your t/c problem

if your runnin a catted offroad exhaust system , mils wont work cause the cats are still adding higher temps, then when you add the mils it puts the voltage signal too low. so hope that helps and good luck. oh and ive been runnin mine for almost a year but i have a o/r x and no cats.

Catted O/R??? doesnt O/R (offroad) mean NO cats... who makes a catted O/R?

no cats.... and what is MILs? that is what the guy I bought the car from said he had. how can I check?

while they were off I had the heads ported /polished/valve job. could that be why w/e the other guy did is not keeping the cel off now?

MIL's or MIL Eliminators are a small plug that plugs in between your o2 sensors located after the cat. Non-catted pipes set off the O2 sensors and you get a "check engine light" within hours of operation. If you look under the car, you will see O2 sensors way up near the exhaust manifold. You will also see 2 more located near the catalytic converter (or where the cats used to be). Thats where the MIL's will be located. Heres a pic

If Bassani offers an off-road catted pipe, please enlighten us all as to what the difference is between off road catted, and off road non-catted. We are all anxious to know. I know I am
