I found a low mileage t5 with bellhousing and pedals for 550$ locally. (well sorta..in driving distance anyways). Tranny is 100% working and has a supposed 49,000 miles.

I really want to do this swap so I think I may snag this while I can. Then I will track down the rest of the parts as I go.

Think $550 is a good price for the bellhousing, tranny, and pedals?

You have any pedals and a shifter to go with it?

thats a pretty good deal as long as the guy didnt beat on it... u would be hard-pressed to otherwise find even a trans much less pedals and a bell for that price... i think i payed just over 1100 for a completely rebuilt and upgraded t-5 (no bell or pedals) u should be able to even rebuilt that one for less than what i paid if it ever needs it... do it up, the swap is great. PM me if u have any questions about it, i might be able to help

Looks like I get the stock shifter and the trans wiring harness also. No ECU but I do get the harness.

With the harness and a manual ECU will my back-up lights still work? Also will my cruise work? I don't care about the clutch safety switch but I'd hate to loose cruise and I have to have my back-up lights.

as long as its out of a 94-95 car, you will have no problem with your cruise and back-up lights... if its out of a fox you cna make things work, but its a whole other ball game... let me know if its from a fox before you get it, ill fill you in with what you're getting yourself into, then decide if its worth it to you... i almost went this route. good luck

if i cna make a suggestion, throw an aftermarket shifter on there while you're at it.. i wouldnt even bother with the stocker unless you are REAL strapped for cash

Sounds too high to me. But im not sure how much pedals go for. I paid $400 for a T5Z with bell, block plate, new pilot bearing and a pro 50 shifter

Thats pretty cheap. I have been looking around and I can't find anything. This is the only decent one I can even find. I do need that plate. Probably gonna get a king cobra clutch and alluminum flywheel.

I may get an aftermarket shifter. I am just getting parts together now. I am waiting till this spring/summer to start this incase it takes a couple days. Soon as it warms up I have a cbr to ride.

This is a 95 GT and the tranny is from a 1994 so it should be an easy swap.

550$ sounds decent to me. Maybe not a great deal but I don't think its to bad. But I can't find anything else.

Also when I go to get it I assume it should go into every gear easily if it isn't messed up. Because it doesn't have a clutch or anything.

ya, it sounds pretty good to me too... others have gotten better deals, but i didnt run into one in over a year and it also makes a difference if it is local bacuse shipping costs make a difference and theres also something to be said for seeing it before you hand over the cash... i say get it as long as it shifts decent

It isn't exactly local but its within reasonable driving distance. I'd rather not ship one anyways. Since fed-ex did a number on my motorcycle engine when they shipped it. Luckily they only busted the water outlet and oil pan...and I had replacements.

THANKS FEDEX

if the t5 is in good shape then its worth it.

i bought my t5 swap kit for 400$ i got the t5, bellhousing, pedals, clutch fork and all the etc.the guy told me the t5 was good but it was a crappy t5, had no reverse, and the synchros were on their way out. i replaced the t5 within 6 months.

u have to be careful when buying used transmissions.
