How easy is a tranny swap?

I have an auto tranny in an '03 GT, no tranny modifications yet. If i go boost or spray I will need a stronger transmission. What's involved in an auto to manual swap? Is this the best choice, or should I just build a strong auto, and how do I do that?

Yeah I'm curious as well. One shop told me it'll run upwards of 6000 for a full swap and install because you need a new computer, shifter cables, possibly a new driveshaft because the manual trannys are shorter, clutch assembly, etc. I heard its not worth it but I'm definitely looking to swap to a manual at a decent cost.

What you do, which will save you TONS of money is but everything stock back on your car and sell it, you could find a manual GT maybe not the same year but for the same price you sold your 03GT for. Reinstall your parts and now you can even afford a nice turbo or an amazing blower with 6000 dollars in your pocket (plus many other fun things)

I would build your tranny and put a stall in it and a set of drag radials and you should be able to increase your 1/4 mile times by at least a second if you are leaving hard
