how else can i get better traction on street?

thanks again guys. im a bit confused with the lca's since there are different recommendations, ie solid, soft brushings... dont know much about them. what is the difference?

as far as the subframs, i have heard to weld the boxes and go full length so im ok there.

tires, i guess i will go with the sticky ones mts because traction in first and second is a joke if i floor it. i have nothing to the ground.

however, i guess i may have to wait to do this until im ready to get a build trans right? it wont last long if im hooking right? then comes the question of what trans to get. i hear the t56 has a long first gear which might help. i hear of alot of problems with the tko's. i was just going to get the same 3650 built by promotion but maybe i should consider changing if im going to upgrade. just seems like alot more work to do anything other then that. i dont really want to get all kinds of other parts to make it work.

anyway, it will take time for me to upgrade the trans so i guess i will be sloe for a while

I love my t56 viper spec mated to a mgw shifter. It is a rockstar combination that I can depend on for a long time. If you have the funds I highly rec it. Get at least the viper spec, or whatever the new one is, magnum I think. As far as parts I don't know because I actually converted from an auto....and for that conversion I needed very very little so I'd imagine you'd need a number of parts you'd probably be able to count on one hand.

Traction brakes stuff so once you start hooking with a lot of power, things will break. The new T56 magnum would be the trans I would go with (and did). They have a few options for gearing. I got mine from modern drive line. Had them set me up with the close ratio 1-4 and changed the 5th and 6th gears out for a deeper OD.

thanks again. so yea i guess i better wait on the tires until i get the trans done if the tires are really going to hook that good. let me know more of this trans info guys. what does everyone recommend?

Well, your car makes almost as much power as mine. I run a 275-40-17 Nitto drag radial and I have IRS. Some days it hooks up, some it doesn't. Depends if it's blacktop or cement and how hot it is outside.

Here's a tip. Don't buy large 17 or 18 inch wheels that require a 35 series tire. I don't care if you have Hoosiers, M/T's....35's ain't gonna hook your car up. Try out a 295-45-17 M/T. It's a tall tire, which will help you. If you get a spare set of wheels and just run those when you wanna mess around on the street and track. Not only is it a tall tire, it has excellent compound. I bet that will work for you.
