are you in a special class?? I know a buddy of mine runs a 289 motor with stock ported heads in a white fairlane with a jericho 4 spd. Launches the car at 9,000 and shifts at 9,500rpms! Runs low 10's with it. As of now he's the 2nd fastest in his class except for a guy out west who's only faster because of the conversion from sealevel.

Scott .... something. I believe his car is a white Ford Fairlane and races at Atco and Englishtown Raceway Park, both in NJ. and yes, I b believe his car does run in super stock. All I know is his cam is HUGE, open headers, but running stock ported heads, low compression, and a carburetor that I wouldn't put on a Honda .

guys i'm really looking for mph that shows horse power, i ran a 88lxcoupe 2 years ago stock weight with 302 stock short block, 289 heads ported stock valves,tf st1 cam,1.6 rr,stealth intake,650dp,longtube headers, 3" exhaust,410 gears, 5 spd and i could run with any aluminum head 302 around, comparison i was guessing it would run mid 12's @ 109-110 ! i'm doing a set of 66 model 289 heads i'm haveing 1.90 int 1.60 exh valves put in em and then i'm going to port them.

also in the same car i blew the motor and ended up putting a stock short block in it just to play around with my 650dp and stealth intake, bbk shorty headers, h-pipe with my 410 gears and a 4cyl tranny which made it geared very low it ran 13.50 @ 104.00 spinning on street tires ! don't fear the gear.......
