Yeah I know it took a while, I finally got to it. So what times are you hoping for? 13.9 or 13.8? If you pull off a 13.5, you will be my idol

Yeah I think he should be able to get somewhere in those times, now that it's a lot cooler than it was a couple months ago (102 degrees). Everyone at the track was running slower than their norm. Have you ran the 1/4 mile with your car before?

i've got probably 11-13 runs in at Infineon (Sears point) Sonoma, Ca at Wednesday night drags. My best run was when i went after my tranny build and stall converter w/ some new sticky tires at 14psi. But now that i'm in San Diego the only track around here is Barona in Lakeside which is 1/8th mile unless i want to drive 1h50min both ways to an LA track. So once i put in these Pi heads and VT cams and tune i guess i'll be hoping for the equivalent of a 12.9 in 1/8th numbers

That sucks the SD track runs only 1/8's. The PI heads should really help the car because I've heard in your model that was the weak link. Well hope you get the times you want, best of luck. Let us know how it goes with the VT cams and PI heads.

Oh im sure i'll let stangnet know, i whore up this board way too much Having the heads and intake manifold hot tanked and the rockers/lifters hand cleaned as soon as the damn guy sends the manifold I'm probabley going to end up running it at Infineon eventually since better flowing heads and higher power range cams don't really shine in the 1/8th mile. Plus i love the low altitude nicely prepped cool air of Infineon, but the techs there are complete asshats, been thrown out once

yea 3.73s are not the greatest gear in that auto he should have put 4.10s in it. but you will blow him out of the water. those 07 GTs are quick my bro his very first time drag racing ran an 8.9 to my 8.8 with mods and more experience racing lol. it sucked knowing he had a stock car against mine and running almost as fast.

Yeah, but I'm usually a pretty modest person. Not a bad idea though, maybe later on down the road I'll get a sneaky Pete

I'll have to check what the rules are for 12's since i got thrown out for not having a helmet as soon as i dipped into the 13's that i didn't think i'd even see.

Looks like a need a driveshaft loop

Really, you need to wear a helmet if your running in the 13's? At the track that my buddy raced at, everyone that was running in the 13's didn't have helmets weird. Guess it depends on their track rules. We went to Famoso in Bakersfield btw.

Think both tracks in LA and Infineon require a Snell 2000 or newer approved helmet for anything faster than 14.00. Rules also apply for Barona's 1/8th mile track except its anything faster than like 8.6.

NHRA regulations state 13.99 or quicker requires a helmet. However it is up to the track to enforce said regulations or not. If its a stock Vette they might let it slide, seeing the car was designed for it. but if you show up with a pretty modified car that ran 15's stock and is now dipping into low 13's and high 12's that the car was obviously not designed for, they will likely enforce the regulation.

Most upper level trimmed cars run 13's nowadays, off the top of my head heres a list of all the cars in stock form that people would need a helmet to drive on a daily basis:

Evo
STi
SRT4 (with Jesus himself at the wheel)
LS Juan (i think even LT1 Fbodies can pull a high 13 with great driving)
Mach1 / 99-01 Cobra
03/04 Cobra
C5 ZO6
C6 Base Vettes
C6 ZO6

It still sucks that you got thrown out for dipping into the 13's and it's not like you can EXACTLY predict what time your going to run. Those guys are asshats.

Thanks for the info man, I'm new to the drag racing scene so I don't know the regulations quite yet. I don't think I really have any serious mods in my car if you check my list on my sig. Well hope they don't say anything if I dip into the 13's, which I hope I make it in there.
