Well i really want to get this project underway, but i am not really sure that i am a good enough mechanic to actually do it.

right now i just want to focus on rebuilding the motor. I have gone over stingers site numerous times and feel that i can probably do it.

So how hard of a motor is this to rebuild for a first time??

Also is there any good literature out there on this specific motor?

Where is the best place to get a rebuild kit from?

I think a 2.3 is a good engine to rebuild for your first because they are simple. I'm rebuilding a turbo engine to put into my Turbo Coupe and it's the first engine I've ever rebuilt too. If you haven't started tearing the engine down yet, make sure that when you do, you keep parts in labeled bags. I'm so glad I did that from the start because some of that stuff I wouldn't remember where it went otherwise, especially bolts and hardware like that. Make sure you have a good place to work, too. I built a workbench out of some 2x4's and a piece of plywood specifically for this engine project.

I don't know of any literature, but a good place for rebuild kits is Northern Auto Parts. Just don't expect to use the pistons from one of their Master kits because they come with hypereutectic pistons, not forged ones.
