well today the weather was nicer so i figured i would go and work on the car some...well i didn't get much accomplished lol i have been taping and painting my stock intake plate... and i noticed how horrible the brackets look that hold the accesories...i would really like to clean these up and paint them but it looks like a huge job to do with the motor still in the car... has anyone done it?? what do you recomend?? and if i get them out do i need high temp paint for anything i paint under the hood??

got mine powdercoated silver metalic, and the alt. powdercoated chrome when I had my upper intake coated.

The alt. bracket is cake. the power str. is not soo bad, you need to pull the pully and get a reverse trx or starbit to remove the pump bolts/remove the A/C compressor.

crappy pic from the re-assem. but it shows the parts well enough.

The brackets aren't too bad coming off, but as was said, the PS pump is the pain. The AC compressor comes off with 4 long bolts, and it can actually rest on the swaybar, if I recall correctly. You'll probably need to remove the fan shroud and fan to gain enough access to the bolts, but I think the radiator could probably stay in place. I had it out when I did my swap, so I can't say for certain, but I'm sure there's enough room with it in.

ok so i think im good on removing them glad its not as bad as what i was expecting to hear haha...but anyone know about the paint question?? i dont think i got the cash for powdercoating thats really expensive isint it??

I sanded the edges and areas smooth (like reg. paint prep). and had a local guy with a powdercoat kit and oven do mine. IIRC it was like 35-40$ for both. and for the plusses powdercoat offers it was well worth it to me.
