hey every one what’s up? I am new here as I am about to buy my first car and want to buy a mustang but want to ask a few things. I am looking to get a 88-93 mustang coupe or hatch with a 5.o and 5 speed but it seems that all I can find in my price range is either 5.0's with AOD or 4 cly cars with 5 speeds. I was wondering witch would be the best to get and do the swap over. I know all the parts that I want to put on it its just I need the car to start (duh) so ya any thoughts and help will be appreciated

if u dont find a 5.0 car with a stick i would get an AOD 5.0 and swap it to stick. an easier swap, less parts, more straight foward. less work to be done. all u need is the tranny parts. if u get a 4 cyl car u would have to swap the whole engine out, all the wiring, computer, and the 4cyl t5s are a little weaker t5, and the 4 cyl rearend is a 7.5" not the 8.8 the 5.0s had.

ditto on the AOD car, by the time you convert a 4 banger you will be in the price range of a 5.0 anyway, so there is no real savings

Best to be patient and wait for what you want. There's a complete turnover in the used market every two to three months. It'll be cheaper in the long run.
