how hard to change the inteior color

i'm looking at buying a 88 gt hatch today. i really like the car.
but the one problem is the interior is that porno red color.

i know i can (and after 21 years prob. should) replace the carpet and seats and headliner easy but what about the plastic parts such as dash and console and the like?

Took me a weekend to do. Not hard if you have the parts. I swapped my Porno red interior over to black OEM interior from a 1990.


However, just one thing.

MINT Porno Red Interior > Ratty Black or Gray Interior

I've seen guys tear out a pristine red interior only to install a dinged up dirty black interior with stains and scuffs everywhere. So if your interior is in excellent shape, i would think twice.

Epik has an exellent example of a pristine Red interior in his coupe. Search for his s/n and you should find pics.

But if your red interior is in need of a resto...go for it.

My red interior is prestine i love it.....if it was all nasty i wouldve changed it...but im not touching it...

I am taking my interior out completely. Just extra weight. When I get all of it taken out, check the SN classifieds, it will be up there.

Some people like it and some don't.. I personally love that porno red. I am converting my Mustang right now from gray to all black with leather ect..
I have spent about $400 on my interior and that is because I came accross some good deals. I bought my seats, dash, console, and other plastic peices from a few guys on craigslist.org that was parting out some Mustangs. The carpet I bought new it was like $115. I still have a few small things to complete it but it can be done fairly easy and cheap if you shop around and watch for people parting out cars with black interior.
