I love modding/improving my cars, but I hate repairs. I had to show a little love for the fox this weekend, but not by choice.

All because of this crappy material that Ford decided to use.

Only 50$ for that other column though.

And at least I don't have to push a stupid button now to get my key back!

Because when I tried to start the car last night the lock cylinder went too far forward and it wouldn't come back far enough to give the the key back. So I pulled the shroud off and saw that crack.

I'm all done now, except for the airbag harness. It seems that sometime from 90-93 Ford changed the connector, and it won't plug in and now my airbag light is flashing. I'm going to see if I can find both wiring diagrams and just splice the 90 connector onto the replacement's wires. I don't want to change clocksprings because the one on the column I bought is in better shape than the one that I took out of the car.

The clocksprings on the fox are year specific. They start with part # F0='90, F1='91, F2='92 & F3='93 and has you found out don't interchange. probally #1 reason why we won't see aftermarket clocksprings for the fox. They also did this with crash sensors. best of luck on the rewire hope it works, not sure on how it will turn out never seen it done. BOL.

It's just the little 3 pin flat connector that comes out of the back of the clockspring that I'm changing. The wires are the same colors just a different shaped connector.

nice job. There was a write up on here on how to take out that key release. It took all of ten minutes. But I see you had other reasons to replace that as well.

BTW What wheels did you go with on the 68??

It has pro stars on it now, which is what it usually has. I have a set factory Bullitts from my 04 that I put on it sometimes but they need 2 new tires now.
