How Important Is The Rubber Seal In The Pigtail Connectors?

Long story short: Replacing all the pigtails on my harness that had broken factory tabs. While the IAT pigtail was on order I gave away the one I took off and forgot to pull the rubber seal that goes up in them off the factory one to put in the new one. After just buying a new pigtail for the ECT/IAC valve and knowing they don't come with the rubber seals up in them I forget to pull it. Ugh....

I haven't test fit the new one to see if it fits pretty tight but I was wondering if someone things I should just go without it or if I could make one out of something. Maybe someone has a junk harness they could send me one for a few bucks?

Right, I understand the function of it. Just didn't know how well it actually executed the function. This will be going in the inner fender.
