How long to install a crate motor?

I would say you could have it done in a weekend with the help of a buddy. IMO, I think swapping a motor would be just a little bit easier than a gear install just that it takes more time. Just go slow and make sure that everything is tight and all your wires are back to the place they need to be.

Depends on how tight you are for time....with help a weekend would do it up...If you wanna clean things up and detail it out some...give yourself a week or 2....you can clean up the bay good, clean up all the accy brackets and paint....may even wanna paint the longblock/oilpan..
One thing I do is have plenty of those small manilla envelopes....as i remove it I bag/indentify.....line em all up in a box.....makes things alot easier...write notes on the bags if need be....Get a Haynes manual for the TQ specs and misc info..
If you got hi miles I would add in some $$$ for new clutch set-up to.....new w/pump..starter..balancer....more you can replace the better to me, especially while its apart...then you basically have a new ride....worry free....

ya it depends on how much of a perfectionist you are, i personally like to clean and make everything look new and pretty before i reinstall it, but if your just unbolting/bolting stuff it shouldnt take long.

and definatly keep track of bolts with labels, good to label hoses and wiring also
