Do it yourself! Save $$.. directions are written at a 6th grade level. (So I hear.)

I've read anywhere from 8 to 12 hrs. I wish I could tell you from experience.

.. Not to mention the novelty value of being able to say, "I installed that."

There's a lot of people who put these things in themselves, who never read these forums, or read mags like we all do.. they seem to do fine.. we're all lucky to have a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips.. there's hundreds who cruise the boards regularly who could help you if you got hung up on a certain step.. and there are several "how-to" articles online. Then use the money you save installing it yourself to buy yourself something nice, like a giant MAF.

I heard it does take 8-9 hours to install
and the directions are of grade school.
It's a very strait forward install also.

Do any of you guys know if any Special tools are required? I will be installing an FRPP supercharger so I would figure that the install would be similar. Thanks.

I started at 9am on a saturday worked till 8 pm then started up again on sunday at 8am and was done by 1 pm. so It took me 18hrs all by myself. I did have a friend come over to help put the core in but he left after that.
A shop had quoted me $1000 for the install, I told them to shove it, and saved me 1k bucks

No drilling of the oil pan with a KB. It's a self contained unit. You're thinking of the Paxton and Vortech line-up.

At 6psi.....doubtful. Even with the cams, you're probably looking closer to 340-360rwhp.

The price of the cams and springs would amost put you at the cost of the intercooled kit and the intercooled kit will make more power than the 6psi and cams so that would not be a good choice $$$ wise.
