Vettes never had to come out with a V6 model to be successful

Can't compare a vette with a mustang, different price range and different consumer. Camaro's and firebird's always had the v6 option. I'm willing to bet that 70% of the mustangs sold are v6's.

Vettes were born as a V6 model.

I think Mustang5L5's link probably says something about that... but for those like me who are too lazy to click, there you go.

I believe the "Blue Flame" six was an inline I know it was backed by a two speed. Wow what a sports car.

But Ford does need to keep a 6 in the stang, puts alot more out there and justifies to the bean counters to keep the car going. Besides the current Mustang 6 has way more power than my first Stang had (84.5 GT350) And there is enough stuff out there to put them in the 10's. I agree with 5L5, I only pick on the riced out ones trying to pass thenselves off as Cobras. I wish I had a v-6 Stang as a daily driver

I do not think the V6 guys/girls need to made fun of for wanting to add power. They are enthusiast, just as we are. Most of use just have 2 cylinders more than them...

Does that make us smarter/better?

The sixers are fugly but I'm not going to hate too much ... I was riding down the interstate one day and a sixer pulls up beside me. This was when my car was basically stock. I laughed because he acted like he wanted to show off ... Anyway, I got on it, so did he, and he actually started to pull on me a little. I was

He had a turbo ... Pretty quick little thing. Of course it didn't have that throaty sound of our cars but yeah .....

Why hate on the V6s? Not everyone that buys a car (to most people a stang is just another car) wants performance.
Most people just like the basic look of the car, and want the slightly better milage that the 6 gets. Another thing to remember that many people cant afford the V8 version, or dont think its worth the extra cash for what they intend to do with the vehicle.

Look at your logic. So why didnt any of you buy a mach 1 or a 99-01 cobra, or a 03-04 terminator, or a 96-98 cobra? Ill tell you why
A. You couldnt afford it at the time
B. You didnt think it was worth the extra coin because you would be happy with your GT. (thats my reason)

Hmm, those are the same reasons the V6 owners didnt buy V8s. Picking on the V6 guys is rediculous, unless they desirve it....Ie riced out V6s.

Exactly! I did not buy a new Cobra because a) Too damn expensive, b) I am perfectly happy with my 01 Cobra will do for me.
Not everyone wants the top speed and HP of the V8's. They just like the beautiful body of a Mustang.
It's kinda like a female, you will forgive a little airheadedness if she looks good! LOL. (just kidding ladies)

I don't have a problem with V6 Stangs. The stock ones anyway. When they have dual exhaust, wider tires than mine and GT emblems , I feel the need to do a "fly by".

Then again it's no worse than Gt's with Cobra emblems.
