They used them on 2v versions early in the run and then switched over to Clevelands. No records really indicate how many 2v's were Windsors vs. Clevelands.

Would Kevin Marti have that info or would his records just indicate H or M? If nobody knows for sure it may be worth a phone call to find out.

I'd bet there were more 2bbl Windsors for 2 bbl cars and more Clevelands with the 4 bbl cars.

they did not have the 2v clevelands ready early in the production run but the 4v cleve was ready. only the first 2 maybe 3 months of production had the 2v windsors.

There allegedly were no 4v windsors on 1970 Mustangs. The Marti reports does not specify, they ony tell you the H code part, which you already know. I am pretty sure even Ford didn't know at the time.

Fomoco98, I used the Coast High Performance kit. It was a comedy of errors of mismatched parts, but we finally got it right. Uses forged Probe 302 Pistions, stock 351w rods and a chinese crank. The machine shop did the clearancing for me, but it wasn't real major. One problem I ran in to was a crank counterweight hit a piston boss, and we had to machine down the counterweight to clear. I inderstand that something like that is pretty unusual. I topped it off with an Edelbrock Performer RPM kit including the heads. I used the 1.90 intake heads as they flow about as well as the 2.02s due to shrouding, and I can throw them on another motor if I want without as many valve clearance problems. Crane gold full roller rockers, Hedman coated shorties and a 750 Holley sits on top. I did all the dissambly and cleaning myself, had the machine shop do all the machine works and I had them assemble the pistons, rods and crank for me as I am in a dusty envoronment, and I wanted then to be sure everything spun freely before I drove 75 miles to pick it up. That turned out to be a good call. I assembled the rest myself, including cam and valvetrain stuff.
