Not an easy question!

http://www.moderndriveline.com/Technical_Bits/transmission_spec.htm
As you can see in this hart, the specs are all over the place. Seems like the SVO has a stronger tranny though.

Those torque numbers never seem close to what the tranny can really do. I have seen a full weright 2.3 SVO with a stock v8 tranny run 11s, so those will take upwards of 400hp.

the t5's aren't very strong, but as long as you dont powershift too often, they will hold for a while.

Well, the torque is what breaks T5's anyway...I don't believe stock V8 T5's are rated for much over the stock 300 lb-ft a 5.0 makes.

Keep in mind that the average 2.3T isn't going to be exerting massive torque until higher in the RPM range. The instant torque off the line that a V8 makes is what breaks parts, like trannies and rears.

Here's another source for factory t5 ratings.

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/T5ID.htm

Most t5's seem to be able to handle much more than what they were rated for though.

Ratings are stupid...real world says they can handle anything you can throw at them with a 2.3T if you know how to shift...up to 500hp or so.
