I have been thinking about buying a roadworthy classic mustang to play with until I finish my street rod 68. How much can I expect to pay for a decent street legal car? Not a barn burner ot a drag car, just a good running 289 or 302. Opinions?
I have noticed that a LARGE number of classic mustangs are either rusted hulks or redneck specials (iz got a 302 dat was rebuilt 10 years ago with a C4 we found, it will run good if you replace the water pump, gaskets, oil pan, distributer, and maybe someother stuff, there is a little rust in the floors, roof, engine bay, but its got 3 good shocks! But it a steal for $6k!)
Consequently because im just looking for a street car and not a show car of HOW racer i really dont want to pay over $10k. I prfer about $8K. Is this reasonable?
