I imagine with the price of petrol back home, the price of an oil change is the least of your worries. I'm from Kent originally.

Hows your insurance??

I'm in Iraq at the moment, but I think petrol is around 1 pound per liter.

I'm a yank so I get gas on base as much as possible, insurance I'm paying about 320 US a month for 3 cars full coverage and property.

It's the first year of owable car tax for the Stang I'm not looking forward to since you get taxed on displacement for cars not in the register.

I Change my own Oil. for 2 reasons 1. It is Cheaper 2. THe oil is actually getting changed! LMFAO That is one of the biggest scams in the world .. Them Not changing your oil, not doing the work etc, I took my car one time to get an alignment and they didn't even touch it at all.. I still had to pay for it though because I couldn't take my car out without paying for it! Thing pulled hard to the left still like it did when I brought it in after I had changed out the Tie rod ends. guy tried to tell me it was my tires. LMFAO yea right after the 5 miles I drove up here I wore my tires unevenly!!! F&Ckin joke is what that crap is.... everything is a Scam Now adays

So, this thread is 2009 old.

What's an oil change cost now? Include the cost of the beer.

I have never paid for someone to do an oil change in over 40 years.
I did pay for an alignment once.

This won't be exactly what you're looking for, but the last invoice I have is for 3 Wix filters and 4 - 5 quart jugs of synthetic, total was ~$144. DIvide that by 3 (the number of filters....) and it comes to ~$48 per filter. For what it's worth I have left over oil since my truck takes 7 quarts, so my next purchase will be lower per filter. If I average one 5 quart jug with 1 filter, it comes to ~$36.48. I don't drink so there's no beer budget.

In some circles, this could be considered cheating.

Well, when you refuse to do business with Walmart, things are going to cost more.
And I have no problem with that.

2002 Coyote Mustang $114 synthetic
2014 Tacoma $52 synthetic
1965 Cobra $62 dinosaur
2020 BMW $85 synthetic

All get done about once a year, Tacoma maybe twice. Been doing my own service work since high school...now retired. Yes, I worked in the industry.

I guess we all have to be so specific these days due to the misunderstanding of individuals who for some reason, can't or don't understand when someone in a "specific" forum mentions what their profession was without actually saying it, so, yes I did work in the automotive/heavy equipment industry. Not to be confused with the City of Industry.

In my case, I don't think I recognize you.
