how much heavier 94GT 5.0 then a 88 5.0

theres a heavily modded 94GT for sale around me for WAY cheap..

Mac longtubes
Mac o/r H
Magnaflow mufflers dumped
3.73's
Tri Ax shifter
BBK 65mm TB
FMS E cam
FMS 1.6 rockers
Chrome Cobra R's

etc etc etc only 107000 miles and I can get him to 3500 done deal including tax.. how much heavier/slower are these cars then the foxbody stangs? 300-400lbs heavier?

how could I lighten this bad boy up if I were to buy it? fiberglass hood? fiberglass front end? or whats the deal?

Okay first off, a cam, boltons, and exhaust is NOT heavily modified.

Anyway, I'm gonna assume it's a coupe since you didn't mention it's a vert. The coupes I think weigh in around 3300lbs or so. I know my vert weighed 3460 (T5). I think we're generally 200lbs? heavier than similar foxes. That's only good for 2 tenths, so don't sweat the extra weight. Instead focus on the better suspension, brakes, looks (opinion), etc. etc.

well heavily modded compared to what they normally have..

I never knew it was only 200lbs though.. I'm sold.

I'm sick of fox handling and braking..

I'll probably take off a good 100lbs anyways..

I heard these cars are harder to work on though?

I'd want to lower this car.. add a Cobra R hood and probably a cobra front bumper.. where do you reccomend buying these parts and how much does this normally run?

are you sure its 3300lbs?

its pretty much optionless too.. no power windows, cloth, manual, coupe etc..

Btw I know what heavily modified is.. I've owned a few foxbodys I'm just new to this area.

No they really aren't harder to work on. There's a little less room in the engine bay maybe, but it's the same motor, so of course the actual wrenching isn't any harder (I've worked on both).

Pretty sure it's right around 3300.

:nice: I see from your sig you had quite a fox, cool! :)

sounds nice.

The vert weighs 3450 +-according to edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/used/1994/ford/mustang/11015/prices.html and the gt weights like 3280 +-. I took my vert down to 3230 after some massive deletes.

I was hesitant to post but it also states the 2dr 1990 gt at 2827 in weight...2900+ for the vert, lx 5.0 2761pds..BUT it states the same weight for the 4cyl as the 5.0 so who knows? Thinking out loud , I guess the 5.0 adds 150 pounds or so?

Lighten the car....

-Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass Hood, Fenders, Trunk. (put on lighter hood springs)
-Remove smog stuff ...mine was about 17lbs (if i remember right)
-EGR delete
-Remove spare tire, trunk lining panels
-Remove rear seats n' Seatbelts (in REAR ONLY) (if you don't wanna leave it open you can get a rear seat delete kit on ebay)
-You can take out the insulation from behind panels, but i don't feel it's worthe the extra work.
-can take out center console if ya don't care what it looks like inside
-Move the Battery to Trunk to get weight over axle
-Delete A/C ...if you want, i wouldn't but you can lose weight with all the A/C equip.
