I have most bolt-ons, including the upcoming addition of Hooker LT headers and o/r x-pipe. I am setting my sights on my next mods. Since I want to stay na, I am looking at polished and ported stock heads and custom cams. The shop that I work with also recommended 30# injectors, pro-m 92 mm MAF, performance valves, locks and springs. What kind of horsepower should I see with these mods? They've estimated around 100 rwhp, which seems kind of steep. Also, if I have all the work done, how much do think it should cost? They are estimating around $4400 for parts and labor.

I highly doubt that you'll see 100 RWHP gain, especially without doing anything to the drivetrain (Torque converter, shift kit). However I dont see why you shouldnt get about 50RWHP out of the setup. Ported/polished heads, a mild N/A cam and MAF, complimented with everything else you have should get you a solid 50.. maybe more with a good tune.

I wouldnt have the shop do the heads though.. you can get complete heads with cams installed for $1695 (no core charge, free shipping)from patriot performance.. 5 angle valve job, SS valves, hi rev springs, retainers, bronze valve guide sleeves, and a stage 2 CNC port/polish job.all the shop would have to do is pull your old heads, put the new ones on, throw on the maf (a 2 minute job) and injectors and you would be all set.

i say about 50rwhp also, i really wish our cars made big hp N/A such as the chevy engines. my friend just got his stock lt1 motor fully blueprinted and stroked to 383 and has lt4 heads and he is pushing 420 rwhp and somewhere close to 470-490ish rwt and its a beast. for us 4.6 2v'ers we have to get supercharged to reach that power.

Does this translate into 25 rwhp for polished and ported heads, with another 25 rwhp for custom cams?

It's a pretty safe estimate although you'll probably see a little more gain from the Cams.
