Ok I think one of the first things I do is replace the exhaust on my SVO (exspecialy that big ****** cat on it). I was wondering how much power this would free up or add. My plan so fair is a 3" down pipe and a 2.5 exhaust, whith a high flow cat and Magnaflow muffler. Also would this combo work good as fair as back pressure is cuncerned? (I also plan to use a duel SVO type tip for a tail pipe)

Also does anyone know someone who makes a good cheap down pipe or should I just get the muffler shop to fab something up for it?

****I know a 3" would be better but not sure yet on how to get it done cheaply. My town doesn't have a place to get mandral bent pipes and not to sure I want to pay to have them shiped. I have asked the muffler shop about the 3" system and they aren't sure it will fit without mandrals also****

you can have it done either way, stinger among other people have 3inch dp's for sale, a muffler shop could do it just as easily. The best way would be to go and price it out at your local places, and then compare. Exhuast is an awsome upgrade for 2.3Turbos, from what i have read its one of the very first "must" upgrades. Good luck, let us know how it turns out!

On a 2.3 Turbo, I'd say a full 3" exhaust would probably be worth at least 10 hp. Maybe more.

Hey thanks

I think buying a DP is better since I can get it mandrel bent, the down side to a small town

I guess I spend more time looking at the tech stuff on Stinger's site to see that he makes stuff also lol The 3"DP he has isn't to bad a deal I don't think and will save some time hunting one down or fabing one

Wait if I run a 3" all the way to the muffler and the from the rear end (out put)of the muffler a 2.5"? This should be easy for the exhaust shop since they want have to mess with the 3" over the rear end.

This would be better than going to 2.5 after the DP. The farther back you get smaller the better.

would this combo work good as fair as back pressure is cuncerned?

Are you saying backpressure is a good thing? The best exhaust on a turbo car is NO exhaust. The turbo creates upwards of 30psi backpressure...you don't want ANY restriction after the turbo.

I will get to ordering my cat, muffler, DP and have that all 3".

Hey have you seen that cat on the stock 85' SVO? That thing looks like a Axillary fuel tank

Don't bother, that's a whole new ball game. 2.5" max for a 5-7hp gain.
