How much HP+TQ can a FMS aluminum DS take??

Need to know what it takes to screw a fms aluminum ds up. I bought a used one that I found out was shot, without knowing this I bent 3 sets of ford gears up. Now I have a new one in the mail from D and D performance, and my dad says I should put a steel one on because they are stronger. What do you guys think??????

The aluminum one is plenty strong!! Its twice as thick as the steel one.

it can handle a whole lot. the stock type steel ones blow. i know because i have one

Alot as in my near 300 rwhp car + my new 200 wet shot, and hot+sticky 275 bfg's on good suspension??

I'd say you're looking at breaking axles sooner than you will the aluminum driveshaft in that situation.

I put down 319/334 at the wheels and it's still ready to take more. A friend of mine has a 342 (I think...) it's a 302 with a 347 crank. Anyways he has a sick combo, with a T-trim and put down 625rwhp, with the aluminum shaft.

Are you sure that was the cause of the gears going bad? I would think a bad DS would wreck a tranny before the rear. ???

Well, the rear yoke was bent outward and the u joint fitment was loose, the caps were spinning. Since it was worse at the back it was whipping, causing the vibration and toasting the gears. I am running a TKO, so hopefully there isnt any trouble with it.
