How much is a Tremec 3550 worth

I am looking to buy a Tremec 3550 trans with the shifter, but no bell. All is good with it except the third gear syncro. I have known the owner since before he bought it brand new a couple of years ago. How much is too much to pay for it? I found a complete syncro and bearing kit for 90 bucks.

Getting my 3550 rebuilt soon for $350. Thats breaking it down, cleaning it, and doing a rebuilt using Tremec parts. Beware of the rebuild kits for tremecs made by other companies. They are not the same!
I'd say that trans, with the grinding 3rd is worth no more than $500. Basically $800-850 and you get a good strong transmission...thats worth its weight in T-5's lol.

See, one thing you guys don't see.. with a 3550, half the syncro is part of the gear... I had mine rebuilt... 3rd gear syncro was shot... and you have to replace the GEAR itself... I had a cast iron 3-4 shift fork, new bearings, seals, and 3rd gear syncro replaced... Cost me 730 dollars. Good luck.

How much power can they handle, worth the swap if you cant afford a TKO ATM?

they can handle more than enough power...unless your running well over 500 hp, don't worry about it
