Buddy of mine just bought a 90 5 speed coupe. It feels like a bat out of hell when he gets on it and has some traction issues right now but we were both curious of what kinda times it could throw in a quarter or on the dyno. Heres the modlist

302 bored 30 over
trw flat top pistons
b cam
1.72 roller rockers
gt-40 intake
stock heads (owner says polished if that does anything)
3.73's
Alum driveshaft
tubular front k member
sfc's
Bbk long tubes
Bbk fenderwell intake
Spec 2 clutch (I think)

Pretty much stole the car I think paid 3200 for it looks like it just needs body work everything else is in working order. We are curious of one thing and its a ticking noise sounds like its near the engine bay exhaust leak maybe? or this is just a shot from the hip but hes got stock valve covers seems like I've read before 1.72 rockers are to big for those? or am I mistaken?

1.72s will clear if the baffle is out. The engine will sound like a sewing machine with them regardless of what you do.

Depending on the headwork....200-230HP to the ground...better the porting work, closer to 230 it would be. Aside from the intake and mild cam upgrade there are no significant power additions on the list. Still a nice list for the street.

I would say in the range of 225-235.....even if the heads are stock.

You have long tubes, intake and cam/rockers in terms of power increasers....each of which probably worth about 10 rwhp. So that puts you around 230rwhp.

Heads are really holding you back. Even a set of gt-40 irons or gt-40p heads would be an easy 25rwhp bolt on.
